Hello all!!

I currently am new to this gardening thing but so far i think i enjoy it plenty.

I have tried starting from seeds but after almost 100% failure i have decided to cheat and get starter plants.

So far i have started some basil trimmings on my window ledge and think its pretty amazing how much roots can grow in just 36 hours (after the roots started)

Although i am using fish tank water as a supplement!!

Any advice is welcome!!

Welcome @Midwestnoob,
I am also new to gardening and poor with seeds; also went the same direction by getting starter plants. But I'm sure with time we will learn how to start planting from seeds.

Welcome, I like to use starter plants to win the battle with the birds eating the seeds.

Welcome to the forum :) It¿s such a brilliant idea to use fish tank water to help your cuttings grow roots :) I plan to start an aquarium soon, so I will definitely be watering some of my plants with that ;) Why throw it away when it's such an excellent fertilizer? By the way, what kind of fish do you keep? I'm personally dreaming of keeping Japanese ranchus :)

I have an albino bichir eel and a South American chilid. And some feeder fish. I have a few random love plants. But I just switched purchased a 125gallon tank. The price was to good to pass. I ended up with extra fish too. But I'll be trading those for some better gaskets for the canister filter.
