Same name, different family. The one you've got is Rumex acetosa, a Polygonacea.

Wood Sorel, Oxalis acetosella, is in the Oxalidaceae family

Lemmings must taste pretty tart!

Red sorrel is really yummy - it's a stronger taste than wood sorrel, but nice if you like the taste.
