I love this vine. I have harvested hundreds of tomatoes from it.

Grape tomatoes are a most prolific plant. I have three plants along a trellis along the deck and get numerous beautiful in cluster fruit.

Very nice! I only have two cherry plants going this year, a sweet 100 (round and red) and little yellow pears. They're finally taking off and I can't keep up, so I bring bowls of tomatoes to all my clients. :)

Grape tomatoes look really nice, but I don't think I'll ever try to grow them. I like big tomatoes. The bigger, the better:D

That is a jackpot there! You will have plenty of tomatoes to do different things with. I can't believe how many tomatoes there are on just that one plant.

The small tomatoes ripen sooner than the large types. A couple of plants are rather nice to have. Gives kids something to do picking them.

Durgan, do you know the name of that variety of grape tomato? Man that is a beautiful cluster of tomatos and a great camera shot as well.

That's true, but I don't have children and don't grow any tomatoes since I don't have a garden;)
Also, it's easier to remove the skin from a big tomato than from a tiny one. I hate tomato skins:eek:

I had no idea there was such a variety of tomatoes. All very impressive. I like the prolific vine over the fence GardenStateGardener. The plastic tomato stakes I have don't really do the trick. Fall over under the weight. I'm now considering your example and plant them along the fence line. I don't mind the neighbour having some. :p It's nicest share isn't it? And as you point out BethB, you take loads to your work to hand out. That's a lovely thing to do and I'm sure your clients love it.

Following on this thread I just looked at some older ones under "similar threads" and I had no idea that tomatoes can be perennials. I just rip mine out. Next season I think I'll try hanging on to a couple. I guess I'd just cut it back. W do have cold winters but no snow so it may work. Very interesting. You learn something new every day hey!:LOL:
