Yes, as long the tree is sending nutrients up and not dormant. I grafted cherry 4 weeks ago and they have leaves.

So what about the scion, what am I looking for? length? leaves on the scion?

when I receive them they're about 10 to 12 inches long, with no leaves, just buds below is a picture of the cherry scions I mention. The leaves are growing now I have 10 grafted done all looking nice. I did some pawpaws about weeks ago no leaves yet but I see some action happening.
