It has been overcast and raining in my area for 16 days now. The weather report says to stop complaining because when the heat hits it is going to be really hot.

It is not raining right this minute but the moisture is hanging in the air making it damp and cold.

My poor plants have not seen enough sunshine to grow, the leaves are turning yellow.

How is the weather where you are. If it wore possible I would love for someone to send me some sunshine.

Down here thousands of gardens have been completely lost because of hail. I have been lucky so far. A couple of days ago a severe thunderstorm passed over me harmlessly and dropped softball sized hail starting about 20 miles from me. And this is happening all over Texas

That hailstorm would have been noisy as well as damaging, Chuck.  I've experienced a few but not hailstones that big. I do love a thunder storm though. Safe and sound at home of course.

We have actually had a very mild autumn, quite lovely. I've usually had several open fires by now but the weather hasn't warranted it. And I do love my open fires. Makes winter worth it. It's about 2 weeks til winter sets in here so opposite to you guys. We had such a hot dry summer I lost quite a few plants but since we've had some rain the garden has picked up. Need more rain though. We've had some pretty scarey winds and lost power for 18 hours, candles and open fire to the rescue. Hope you get some sunshine Pat.:)

It has been gray or rainy for about two weeks here now. We do have sunshine at the moment, but according to the weather forecast we have bad storms coming in tonight. I sure hope he's wrong.

Wish l could send you sunshine @Pat but we are having a torrential rain thunderstorm right this minute! It's supposed to clear and warm up again by Saturday. I'll send you some then. :)

Meanwhile here's a pic of my little road in front of the house right now.

Its raining here and if that wasn't bad enough it started to get muggy this afternoon, my climbing roses are all starting to set buds and I don't need any more rainy and muggy days.

I had to get a new roof from the hail last month, but it did not affect my plants.I think all the cages and supports probably helped break the fall of the golfball-sized hail (we had it twice in 19 days and each time it lasted a minute or less). We've been in a rain-sun pattern of late. I get SAD and it hasn't kicked in, but to hear the people on local weather forecast, we've been under gloomy skies for days on end. Today was supposed to be a little stormy and instead it was sunny, in the low 70s (we'd been in the low 80s), with low humidity. Considering the severe drought we were in a year and a half ago, a few extra days of rain strike me as a good thing.

(As for my roof....it was damaged, but there were no leaks or holes as reported in other areas. When the hail was coming down, my main concern was my plants!)

I envy your weather because we are having a drought and the summer heat is always sizzling in the later morning until the early afternoon. My husband had instructed everyone in the house to water the plants twice a day - morning and afternoon - otherwise some are wilted and some have already died particularly those plants in the plastic pots. And a caution to our housemaids, do not let the water get to the leaves for it will only hurt the plants. Just irrigate the roots.

Where I live it has been very dry for months now. Our rainy season usually starts in May, but so far we have only been visited with a couple showers here and there. The garden is showing signs of dryness but we are not allowed to water plants at this time because they are trying to conserve water, so the plants that can survive well without water will thrive while those that need more water will just droop. However,I must say that even though the weather has been so dry, we have been having some very nice breezes for the most part, so heat is not an issue right now. I hope more rain will come soon so that the surroundings will start looking green and flourishing again.

We also have rain every week and lasting at least three days! Yesterday, May 15, we had snow and hail also. It is still so cold here.

Where I live, it's been unseasonably hot. We've already had eight days over eighty degrees. One day it reached ninety three! Our peas are doing horribly, as the hot weather is affecting them, but the rogue blackberry bushes are growing about a foot per day! We are going to have to hire a landscaping crew to take control of them soon, as even my goats can't eat them fast enough!
