Hello all

I live in Ohio and I have been dragging my feet on finishing the beds for winter because the gladiolus leaves are still green since we still haven't had a killing frost. I always waited until the leaves browned before cutting them and digging them up under the belief that as long as the leaves are green that they are still feeding the corm. Seeing how it's been 3 months since they've bloomed i would think there is no harm at this point in removing them I still hesitate because there is a lot and I would hate to cause harm out of impatience. Any advice? Can I cut them back while green?

That's what I thought. I just don't think I've ever had to wait this long so I was getting antsy to check it off my to-do list. Thank you for your advice!

So long as you get them out before your ground freezes, they'll be ok. Some of mine are still not ready (and I'm just 12 miles north of the florida line) so, I'm thinking it all has to do with the weird weather we had this year.
