My father planted an artichoke plant last year before winter and by this winter there will be artichokes for us all to delight on. There is a trick to growing the plant and if you don't do it right then you will have a plant growing and you will be waiting for the artichokes that will never arrive.
If you plant them you need to ensure that the soil is covered with bark or coffee granules and that you water it every day.
By the time winter season arrives your very fleshy leaves will also allow for artichokes to appear and you can then take them off and cook them in any which way you choose.
