Hi Gardening Forums.
I'm a middle aged bloke, but a fairly new gardener.
I've recently bought a new house with an established garden and seek help in identifying some of the plants. I'll post separate threads for those.
Even though it's winter down here, there are some nice flowers coming out.
I doubt I'll be able to offer much assistance to others though as I'm still on my L plates, but I'm a quick learner!
Cheers,
Darryl.

Welcome to the forum mate. The usual advice with an established garden that you are new to is to stick to maintenance jobs for a year and see what pops up in the different seasons, it also gives you time to look and decide where you wnt to go with it. Good luck.

Cheers Oliver.
Good advice. As well as that I'm keeping an eye on what parts of the garden get full sun. I've got a lot of gum trees around the area so some areas will get a lot of shade.

G'day @Darryl - good to have you on board :) It's a long time since I visited Adelaide. Lovely place, and not so hot and sticky as Queensland where some of my kids are. Some also in Tasmania. Saves me having to do the babysitting being back here in pommy land (y)
