Hello!

This is my first year gardening and it technically wasnt my choice, I just took over the plants when my father forgot about them and my mother showed zero patience with them. They are growing fine now and I enjoy them, however since i did not chose them I also have zero knowledge about them. I have been reading and watching videos a lot, but I just cant find an answer about my garlic.

I dont know what kind of garlic it is. But i do know that at least one garlic clove was planted around november. Am I right to think that it must be close to be ready for harvest?

People keep talking about a curly thing that grows from them when they are close to harvest time, but mine only has its normal leaves.

The rest of the garlics were planted after the first, like moths apart, so I would like to know if you can tell me any more hints.

I'm also not sure about the amount of dried leaves it has. Is it normal? Too much water? Not enough water?

I'm leaving a picture here. If you have any tips about harvesting time please do share. I also read about harvesting when only a few leaves are green and most are dry?

Thanks in advance!

No scape, the long tail that has bulbils or seeds is missing, so it is probably soft neck, which is of little importance, but interest only. The plants appear to be healthy, but should be left a little longer until the lower leaves start to change color or die off a bit. Conversely you might pull a plant and see if the bulb has individual cloves probably around six or seven. I am guessing a bit because your climate is decidedly different than my Zone 5, plus I have never grown garlic in a container..
