Gardening Tips during a drought

I found this article written on the University of California website about gardening during a drought. The article states "Water dedicated to landscape can often be reduced by 20 to 40 percent because over irrigation is very common. Gradually reduce the amount of water applied over a few weeks - giving lawns, trees and plants time to adjust".

Thank you. We did something like this in the gardens at my workplace this summer due to drought. Our gardener was also coming in at 6AM to start the watering with the goal of being done with watering by 10 AM. That saved quite a bit of water and kept her out of the hottest part of the day while still getting good hours.
