I’m thinking about replacing my 20 year old craftsman rear time tiller. But when I look for reviews online I just get ads. Someone just pushing their brand. I want to know which is the most reliable. Maybe I just keep my old one it does start on the first pull.

Any recommendations?

Looking for rear tine.

Starts on the first pull...yep that's a keeper. When you price the new ones, it looks even more like a keeper.

I've had good luck with the Troy-built Bronco. Three decades of service and no plans here to replace it.

Yep a keeper if you can still run it. They made stuff beefier back then and made to last.

I'd keep it. I bought a Earthquake 33 cc for $206 out the door. I am now trying to get Ardisam to honor their warranty. It is just over a month old and it looses power if you try to cultivate even light soil. It is made in china. My advice is Buy American Made.

I have had my Troy-Bilt Bronco a long time. 10 years? It's not that old, the newer Briggs carb etc. Forward rotating. On the smaller machines you may like a reverse rotation. Otherwise you make many shallow passes to keep it smooth and not jumping out of the ground.

I understand the want to upgrade to something newer. However you said it still starts on the first pull so is there a reason, other than just upgrading, why you want to replace it?

I'd crank it up and smile with every rotation of the tines,. The rep at Ardisam emailed me. Said she would send me a new carb, or Take it to authorized repair or return it to Home Depot . I told them send me a new carb AND GASKET. Always use a fresh gasket. :giggle: :sneaky:
