i live in HOT N.C. - a half hour from S.C. - it`s july is it possible to start a fruit tree and what kind THANKS

Bubbaman, I suppose it is possible to start a fruit tree now, if you are an experienced orchardist blessed with good luck!
We have much the same conditions as you here in central Texas, and we plant fruit trees (and perennials) in the fall. October and November are the prime planting months since the trees have a chance to settle in without fighting the heat.
Waiting will pay off in the long run, and you'll have time to decide what kind of fruit you want, and what variety will do well in your area.

ok thanks guess i`ll wait till late sept. - what about blueberrie bushes - i guess the same rules for the fruit bushes ??

If it is a potted tree sure. If a bare root tree then not so easy.. Doesnt really matter what kind if it is a tree that will grow in your area. Fall and winter are the best times to plant trees
