hi all I was wondering someone just gave me a 10" fig tree, should I transplant it into a bigger pot now?

It would help a lot if you would update your profile. Knowing where you are located and you zone takes away most of the guessing. But since figs are a fairly shallow rooted and fast growing plant and have a wildly distributed root system it would seem appropriate to either move into a much larger pot or better yet into the ground where it can receive constant moisture. Not wet, just barely moist. I have my fig tree close to a leaky faucet where the tree receives southern sun. But since I don't know where you are this may not work for you
