So I planted these ficus in 2017. You will see a photo of them in 2020. I cant figure out the problem as to why they are not FILLING up. I used to water with sprinklers and recently changed them to a drip irrigation that has holes every 12" and there is two lines ... one in front of tree and one in the back.
I am in Burbank which is in California and Valley so summer its usually 90-100 degrees.
I water 30 minutes at 7am DAILY. I recently noticed my leaves turning LIGHT GREEN so I changed it to every 2 days instead.
Today I walked up to the plant and noticed black curled leaves. I opened it and noticed white and black insects inside.
1) Can someone please tell me what is causing these leaves to curl, turn black and insects lay eggs inside?
2) Why are my hedges not FILLING up. I have my gardener TOP OFF the hedge so it grows in width, but its not.
3) My gardener fertilizers it 2x a year, 15/15/15 is what he uses.
