Fern transplant time of year

I have some ostrich ferns I would like to relocate. I live in PA in Zone 6. I'm wondering if I can move them into a shady location this time of year? How late would I be able to move them? TIA

You can move most things in shade any time during growing season as long as they have a few months time so they can get their roots down and well established before your first frost comes.

Water it in well keep soil moist, mulch them well and they should be fine before the weather gets bad.
