I gave my daughter a variegated version as a house plant. It was happy for a week or so and then was overwatered. It now has ver droopy leaves and looks very sad. What should she do?

I gave my daughter a variegated version as a house plant. It was happy for a week or so and then was overwatered. It now has ver droopy leaves and looks very sad. What should she do?
I'd take it out of the pot and take some of the soil off and repot it in the same pot with some new soil that's a bit dryer, don't water it straight away.
