Dying sedum

Hey all, Ive had this plant for a year and 2 days now, and all of the sudden a number of branches (vines?) Began dying from the base up and just falling off. Im rather quite fond of this plant so i would really appreciate any advice you could give me. Ive been putting the fallen stems into another pot in the hopes of it taking root.

sure that is a sedum? anyway, all mine are in ground outside in the cold weather., been for years. I just trim them down to the ground and they come right up.

Reasonably sure, the leaves coming in look a lot like several species of sedum, and I distinctly remember buying a sedum at some point in time. I doubt it'd survive the -40 winters we get out here or it'd be outside

If it's anything like mine, it periodically sheds stems , seemingly in an effort to propagate . They do take root easily.

Sounds like it might be waterlogged. Yes cut off bits etc can be gently pressed into a moist gritty compost, remove any rotten bits. Having said that. Many sedums tend to suddenly go limp and suffer this way. If it worries you, cut the stems down, cover the plant with a light layer of horticultural grit, leave off watering for a few days.

I might add that it looks more like a Jade and they can suffer from overwatering very easily.

you have aerial roots, sign that they are in need of water, the longer nodes indicates lack of light. For me it looks like a jade succulent
