So, my wife and I have pet dumbo rats and we feed them seeds with dried corn in it. On a whim, I thought it would be interesting to see if the corn would actually sprout if I put it in water. Lo and behold, it grew better than the pack of seeds that I bought.

I also took a few kernels off of the sweet corn cob that we gave to our rabbit and those just started sprouting this morning. Anyone had this kind of luck in regrowing dried vegetables?

With corn, they are usually dried by the rural folks. And if the corn is matured when harvested, it is dried in 2 ways - one is under the sun and another is by hanging in the barn. But I guess both corns are good for planting materials since their fertility (if that is what you call it) is intact. Just to brag a bit, we have some corn in our extended garden planted by some neighbors and we expect to harvest in 2 months. Maybe we would have some dried corn for saving the kernels for future planting.
