Cucumbers

I am going to try to plant cucumbers for the first time any tips?

There are a few different types of cucumbers, and they take very different care.

What type of cucumber seeds do you have? What type of cucumber do you like. If you are growing from seeds then the back of the package has a lot of information about what you need to do.

I live in a very dry and hot place, my cucumbers have always done great in this climate. i actually just planted the seeds, watered them and the plants just started to pop out! So if you live in a place with an ok climate, you shouldn't have such a hard time growing cucumbers.

the cucumbers that I have like to grow wide, but if you put something up like a tomato cage, they will actually grow up rather than out

Yeah I just let my Cucumbers go wild and grow all over the place. Why try to cage them off when that is not what the plant wants to do. I forget the name of them, but they are the ones they recommend for pickling. So far they are great, and they are easy to deal with.

I have a few sticks to train them up. they want to climb but if they can't they just grow out. Climbing keeps the veggies from being discolored on one side because they will be hanging.
