Two ways I deal with it are 1) physical distance and 2) stagger planting.

However, I only save seeds for Okra, Peas, some tomatoes and seed potatoes and selected flowers. I find there are hybrids today that perform far superior to the older generations of plants.

Most likely to cross in my experience are squash and pumpkins and cucumbers and melons. Physical distancing and stagger planting will generally minimize crossing in each of those.

Don' plant veg from the same family close together. My cantaloupe were about 40-50' from my watermelon and I got tasteless junk that went into the compost.
