found this plant growing in a pot in my backyard. i live in california if that helps! i know the pictures are a bit unclear, please tell me if you need better ones.

It's a weed, probably something cruciferous, or possibly a thistle. Either way it's probably edible but if there's something else in the pot you really like, you should pull it up.
