Complete beginner here - is this a squash or cucumber?

Long story short, my husband planted everything according to a plan I had made for a square foot garden. He put labels by everything, but then my kids came along and ripped them out. According to the plan this is supposed to be a yellow crookneck squash. It's big, but still green and has little spikes all over it. Is it a squash or a cucumber?

I would. It looks like a slicer and if they get too big they get bitter.
