I was working in the garden last week for couple of hours and whilst I was distracted look what they did.
I got advice and strung fishing line from nail to nail along my 32 metres of railing.
Now see the cockie sitting on the wire ☹!! Also saw one with the line in it's beak pulling at it.
Very disappointing but their visits seem to be lessening so maybe it's putting them off.
I need to do some more homework though. Maybe a firmer wire.
Apparently I need to break their habit of visiting. And that means not putting bird feed out!!! I do love to feed the King Parrots and Rosellas. I've posted many pics of them herec in the past. What I have been advised to do if I must feed them ( and I really feel I must ) is to put feed out for 20 minutes, keeping guard and then removing the feeding dishes altogether. That way the cockies will see on their flybys that it's not worth dropping in
