I literally stumbled across this Daikon radish this morning walking across the garden. What a Christmas present!
Weighting in at about 6 and 1/2 pounds and stretching about 40 inches in length...and yes, it is still very tasty.
"Daikon radish (Raphanus sativus var. longipinnatus) is a versatile and nutritious root vegetable commonly used in Asian cuisine."
I use it primarily in cover crop mixtures as it is a great soil builder reaching incredible lengths down into the soil....and great eating.
Merry Christmas to everyone...and good gardening.
