My cat palm has been thriving indoors for the past year. I’ve dealt with three bouts of spider mites with no long term effects.

However, in the last few weeks, about half its fronds have grown yellow, and I’ve had to cut them. The new growth its been happily sprouting for the last few months has stopped developing. The fronds that are still here have become very droopy.

I haven’t changed its location. Haven’t changed my watering habits. I’m aware I should probably be watering it more often, but it seems to have taken a huge turn with no significant change in care.

I love this plant and would be so sad to see it go!! Anyone have any ideas?

Hello @Lucasloredo , and welcome to the forum. I have one of those palms too, and have experienced similar problems with it since the hot weather started. I took off the bits that were badly affected, and tied the plant up (around the stems) with a soft scarf. I have been misting the plant frequently - much more than usual, to increase the humidity, and have also given it more water than usual.
Happily it seems to be picking up quite well :D

Thanks, @Tetters ! That's good advice. I'll pick up my misting and watering frequency. It IS dreadfully hot here in Texas right now. I keep the room temperature between 74 and 79 degrees F during the day, but maybe it's getting too hot near my windows...! Thanks for the help!

Yes! I moved mine away from a window too. Last evening I removed the scarf, and misted again. This morning -more mist, and it`s standing up quite well although still shows evidence of being previously scorched.

Ah, but it looks much better! I feel so sad for my baby--it's lost half its fronds. Woe is me! Thanks again for your advice!
