Got some Butterfly Milk Weed Blooming. Figure the ones Blooming will go to seed.

Wanting the soil deeper. Thinking put some soil in the bed around the plants before they seed, dropping the seed on the New Soil. Plus got some Butterfly Milk Weed seed I'm going to add to it this Fall.

Sure, it will work, or you can collect the dried seed heads and start the seed in flats in spring then plant them right where you want them.

If you just let them seed themselves, you will end up with lots at the base of the mother plant and will need to transplant some or they'll crowd each other out. Either way is good, just depends on whether or not you want to do transplanting the babies in spring, or just planting out in spring.

I have several varieties of milkweed. Most require cold stratification so best to plant in the fall.

Got some plants up I'm sure will seed they are blooming.
