Bug on my sunflower and elderberry

Hi guys. There’s these brown bugs on my elderberries a lot and sometimes on my sunflowers.
Additionally I saw this worm kinda thing actually inside my tomato and protruding out the end ! That was the weirdest thing ever. Any idea if I should be concerned about the brown bug , and any idea what that worm in the tomato is

PS I covered the tomatoes with plastic bag ( as seen in picture ) after seeing that worm and various holes in other tomatoes. Not sure if it’s a good idea but it seems to be protecting them since I put it ?

The caterpillar is a tomato fruitworm. With you being from S. Africa I have no idea what the bug is although I suspect it is some type of beetle.
