Hi, I had a Bowles Mauve Erysium that came to the end of its life last year, but a seedling erysium appeared in the garden. It is the size of, and long flowering habit of the Bowles but with some pale pink flowers mixed in with the mauve. I have only just discovered that Bowles is sterile, and this new plant has nice seed pods swelling. Everyone who sees it comments on its beauty Any idea how this could have happened? I have some other perennial erysimums in the garden that could have produced the seed but not the colour.
