This is Lovage (Levisticum officinale) in the Celery Family (Apiaceae). Possibly, originally only native to eastern Iran and Afghanistan, Lovage became widely grown and occasionally naturalized around the Mediterranean and northern Europe in ancient times. This robust herb is still used today as a salad green, root vegetable, and culinary herb.
