Hi Fellow Green Thumbers,

Hoping you can help provide a diagnosis and treatment plan for an Angel Trumpet that has been absolutely thriving until recently. We bought the tree in April and it has grown rapidly. We noticed some light yellowing on the edges of the leaves and cut back a bit on the watering. Now, the leaves are curling, turning brown and exhibiting signs of holes. Photos are attached, including one that shows a tiny pest which looks similar to a grasshopper. We are so sad to see this once lush and thickly leaved tree dwindling. Thank you for all your help and recommendations.

How about 20 (or so) questions.

Where are you?
How much sun and shade does it get?
Is it in the ground or in a container?
Does it get rained on or just hose water?
If in a container, how big is the container?
If in the ground, did you get a soil test?
If only hose water, how much, how often, are there drain holes?
Have you fertilized it? With what and how much?
Has anything changed drastically recently?

With some answers to these there is a better chance of diagnosing the problem. And expect 20 MORE questions!:ROFLMAO:

I don't know what zone you are in, but mine (in the UK) dies back over winter and comes back in Spring.
Grasshoppers in their larval stage look very similar to the adult, this is definitely the year of the grasshopper in my garden, though I have never seen them on them, unlike most herbivores they move far and fast though, so it might just have been visiting.
