I have had an Amaryllis bulb for many years. I had forgotten about because I had placed the pot on the other side of the house.
I finally took it out and had it under my cedar tress on the front. It grew lots of leaves but no blooms . I had read a little about how to make them bloom. I cut all the leaves just to under the soil line and brought under my covered porch.
In about two weeks it started growing and about two weeks later a couple of bloom stalks started growing. One had bloomed beautifully and the other is on the way. Attached is pic. It is mid March now here in North Miami, Fl. should I cut it down to the bulb after blooms are done or?? Should I put it in the ground?

Put it in the ground or in a pot in the very sunniest place you can find. They love sun, the more the better. Then feed with a balanced or high Phosphorus fertilizer.

Thanks. You are in California?
Summer here is brutal. Long summer and temps in high summer 95 , 97 everyday. That’s why I am a little apprehensive about putting it in full sun. The sun is really strong here in summer,

Try 105-115. Granted the humidity is down around 15-20%, but 100+ is 100+.🥵
Yes, that’s hot. 100 is 100.
But it’s a dry heat. lol. That’s what people say.
Humidity here in summer 90 to 100 percent.
It’s disgusting, and don’t get me started on the mosquitos.
Thank you for your feedback.
I have to find a place in the garden where it doesn’t get the hottest part of the sun in summer.
