Advice on where should I plant my lemon and tangerine plants?

Should I plant my lemon and tangerine plant in the front yard or back yard? Front yard- the issue is if they grow too big, they will mess with the foundation of my house. If I plant them in the backyard- I am afraid of the pest control- it is hard to control pest in my backyard, what should I doooo?

Plant them at least 6’ from the foundation and you can plant them in front or back.

Hello friend. The success of the trees will mostly depend on the location in Texas where you are planting them. If you live in the Lower Rio Grande Valley you will have plenty of success. If you live in North Texas you will need to make environmental adjustments to succeed.

Make sure that the location you plant in has at least 6-8 hours of direct Sunlight every day. Thanks for the post, good luck and keep us updated.

You're telling us you have more pests in your back yard than in your front yard? Also: Would passersby picking your fruit be an issue?

There is a terrific product that few seem to know about: "Tanglefoot." If you're worried about squirrels or other "pests" harvesting your fruit, then don't plant the trees where squirrels and rats and Opossums can access the trees by either dropping down atop the trees or climbing up into them.

Tanglefoot will keep all sorts of "pests," including scale, aphids, ants out of your trees --- anything that will have to climb up the trunk of the tree.

Lemons (the fruit thereof) ---- I have never had a problem with any "pests." Tangerines, though ----- everybody loves a good tangerine.
