Advice for soil mix for hot pepper plants

I have primotalis and scorpion peppers coming in and was curious what soil to use. I only have some 5 gallon buckets to plant them in.... any advice? Thanks

If your garden soil is fertilie use it with a good manure based compost. 75% soil 25% compost. A 5 gallon bucket may not be large enough for the scorpions. I grew a couple last year and they grew to a very large size, about 5 1/2 feet tall and 4 feet wide. It would have blown over in a bucket

I haven’t grown primotalii, but Chuck is right about the Scorpions. Mine was smaller but still a large plant...top heavy umbrella shaped.
