I have a major problem with spring allergies and they are starting to act up now that spring is on the way. How do you deal with spring allergies when you tend to your garden?

My mom is allergic too, but she just love her garden so much that she doesn't care. She lives with a pack of kleenex in her pocket to be honest. Recently, she got checked by an allergy specialist and he prescribed a vaccine to her.

So if you suffer from allergy, you should go see the specialist.

One suggestion my grandmother had for me was to get some local honey in your area. Although we live in a rural area so this may work better for us than a populated city. Bee's collect honey, and therefore if you eat a little bit of that pollen laden honey, you are likely to get a mini natural vaccine against the effects of the pollen. This isn't an immediate effect, but every little bit certainly helps when it comes to spring fever. She also suggested good quality hot tea for the steam, as well as eucalyptus oil. Grandma used to be for sniffling in spring, but she took her honey daily and she never had that problem after a few months. She was able to be out and about without lugging around kleenex's and taking allergy medication.

You have not stated what you are allergic to. Is it the weather or the flowers, I mean the pollen? I think allergy being a bodily overreaction to an allergen is best treated by a physician. I have experienced allergies in the past and realized that continuous exposure prompts the bodies' mechanisms to adjust to the allergen.

Yep, as everybody has stated, the first step is to find out what detonates your allergies, with the help of a specialist in that field. Then get a vaccine or take measures to minimize your exposure to that.
