I re-purposed this antique cast iron chair into a succulent planter.
The chair was cleaned up and then a wire mesh bed secured to the seat.
Then the stones, soil and some "horse hair" around the edges
For the succulents, some came from my garden and many of them were donated from other ladies gardens.
The chair was given to a friend of theirs for her 60th birthday.
I will be honest though, it was very hard to part with, I wanted to keep it forever.
I definitely want to try more of these kinds of arrangements!

It looks so pretty! You did a wonderful job. Succulents are such beautiful little things, I always think they're like pieces of art.

Absolutely love this! I love vintage/rustic styled gardens and the chair reminds me of that - looks fabulous too with all the succulents on it! I'd love to try and recreate this project in my own yard!

Amazing! You did great!! I thought i wouldn't be a big fan of this kind of projects, but I must admit that lately I'm really starting to like them :) I might even try something like this in the future! It looks so pretty and rustic!

Beautiful mix of succulents and the back of the chair makes it look whimsical! What a creative way to repurpose the chair!

Re-purposing vintage objects into planters is such fascinating and pleasurable art.
Succulents are especially suited for such art projects as they are diversely sculptural, adaptable, and easy-care. Also, with succulents, the leaves and stems often become the visual focus instead of flowers. This keeps succulent consistently more beautiful and intriguing year-round.
