For the Football fans, goal nets were invented in Bridport by a guy watching a disputed goal, he worked at a rope factory and told his boss about the idea.

The nets for the 1966 world cup were made in Bridport.

I would love to go to Bridport for a visit, it will have to be after I go to Iceland though I love the quaint look of the area, is this considered a village then? I actually live in a village and it reminds me a lot of my own area. The town hall in Bridport looks so close to our town hall, I like the columns on yours better then all the stairs on ours. The design seems similar maybe it is a particular type of building design I don't know. I wish that we had plants from the windows.

Great pictures and what really appeals to me is how clean this town is ; i guess i would love to visit Bridport on any given day.

Wednesday and Saturday are best as they have a street market. Thursdays are early closing so most of the shops are shut
