Eight Romaine lettuce were planted in the outdoor garden. These were purchased in a flat and placed in individual pots in the greenhouse to establish strong roots

I harvested 2 Paris Island Cos yesterday, from a group of 12, transplanted in the polytunnel in mid-March and have the roots sitting in jars of water, to keep them crisp. I harvested another for a friend.
I have a batch of 12 Balloon ready for transplanting, and it is expected that they will begin harvesting when the others have been eaten.
Both are Romaine types; both are started from seed.
Your lettuces look very healthy.

Sowed another batch of, "Paris Island Cos" yesterday, a few days after planting out the 11 (one died), "Balloon" mentioned in the post above.
If quality, texture and taste are as good as this batch in the warmer summer, and if they stand for a reasonable time, I can see them becoming a perennial favourite.
